Shock Tory Gamble In Stoke
BOOKMAKERS William Hill have seen an unexpected sudden gamble on the Conservatives to win the Stoke on Trent Central by election, forcing their odds to crash from 33/1 to 9/1.
Hills are also expecting a very low turnout of voters - offering 10/11 that it will be under 34%, 10/11 34% or more.
'The Tories had been largely ignored in the betting until overnight Sunday, and early on Monday morning, when there was a sudden surge of support for them, which caused the odds to collapse. It will be interesting to see whether it continues' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe, 'Perhaps it is linked to the difficulties which have been suffered by both Ukip and Labour 's candidates during the campaign here'
